Recommend Reads for Tweens/Teens 2012 ♥

Hello there, Pinkryders! First post ever! Exciting, isn't it? Yes, it is, very exciting indeed. Instead of babbling and thanking different people, I'm just going to start off....;) I've seen that a lot of people comment with books they recommend for tweens/teens and they sometimes tend not to be favorites for us..Meaning that "NO." is the only emotion when seeing the titles..oops....so these are a few that I personally liked, as a teen.  I've always been a big reader, so reading is a big thing in my life, which means I've read tons of books. These are just a few of my favorite books!!! Make sure to check 'em out because you won't regret it! :)

The Harry Potter series by J.K Rowling, all ages: This series was amazing! It was well written with a good story line; honestly the best series I've read in my life. It teaches you a lot in different ways, and shows you that you ARE brave AND strong. One of the other great things about this series is that it has strong girl main characters like Hermione Granger. I highly recommend this series.

(For a Tween) 11 Birthdays, by Wendy Mass: Probably 5th grade+. 11 Birthdays is part of a three book mash. This book, you'll find, is actually really witty by the time you finish it. Written very well, good story line, entertaining, and fun.

(For a Tween) Finally (12), by Wendy Mass: This is the second book in the birthday mash by Wendy Mass, following another girl, Rory. Again, witty and entertaining, and will keep you flipping the pages. Good girl lead, all around good story.

(For a Tween) 13 Gifts, Wendy Mass: Third and (maybe?) final book in the birthday mash by Wendy Mass, that will highly please you. The books go older as you do, and get better and wittier (more witty?). Very satisfying and well written. Girl lead a little bit not-out-there type, but that changes as she gets friends, which teaches you with friends, anything is possible. :)

(Tween/teen!) Every Soul A Star, Wendy Mass: Okay, so I've already proved to you that Wendy Mass is a great writer, so let's get on with it! The story follows 4 characters, boys and girls. Good story. I recommend it!

(13 years old plus!) A Mango Shaped Space, Wendy Mass: The first wrong impression I got on this book was the title. It sounded...stupid, but that is not the case. The only reason I decided to read the book was because my favorite author wrote it; (don't judge a book by it's cover!) The book follows a girl with Synethesia, and it is amazing. Well written and great! One of my favorite books ever.

(Umbrella Summer, by Lisa Graff: This story revolves around a 10 year old girl, Annie, but really, the book can be read by most girls, older and 11+. Good girl lead. During the reading, you may be like, "this is kind of sad!" but by the end, you won't be crying-no, you won't cry at all during the reading, you'll just be flipping the pages! The ending is sweet and I recommend it.

Anything by Gail Carson Levine! I will recommend her books any day! (Ella Enchanted-look at the second to last sentence-Fairest, The Wish, Princess Sonora and the Long Sleep, The Princess Test, and the Princess Tales series-) Even though most of her books are about princesses or whatnot, and you may think "um, princesses? How is this a strong girl lead?" think again! She has many different kinds of 'Princess' stories, and they are great! Oh yeah, FORGET the movie versions of the books-they aren't a good look at the book at all. I recommend reading the books before the movie-(Yeah, I know, sometimes it's fun watching the movie before-:)

(Tween) So Totally Emily Ebers, by Lisa Yee: Okay, so maybe the title sounds shallow, but the book is....not really. When I read the book, I was surprised by how it was so...my age-y. :) This is a good book for 11-12+. It's really good, and any girl can relate to everything in in. BFF drama, being a new girl at that place, style problems, all that! When I was 11, this was my favorite book ever. I read it over and over again. :)

(13 years plus!) My Fair Godmother: No, this is not actually Cinderella. Girl trying to find her place in this world. A problem we all have, right? I can probably say it is in the top 5 favorite book list of mine. Entertaining with a good girl lead. Funny and charming, anyone will love it! Amazon all these books for more info! :)

My Unfair Godmother! (Look at review above too! By same author and a really great book!)

SO, these were just my personal suggestions, what I liked, but hey, tell me what you think and a few books I should add! To be completely honest, all of these books are simply amazing and I've read each one several times. Just ask me a question, and you'll probably get the main character's life story.

Until "NO." becomes yes, (who am I kidding, that will never happen muahaha),

 xoxo,
